We ordered two dishes to share— pork ramen, curried beef over rice in a stone bowl, and gyoza. We liked the ramen— the noodles had some bite and the broth was very flavorful. The beef dish was ok— I think it needed some vegetables and would have been perfect on a cold winter day. The gyoza was deep-fried, which we were not expecting and the meat was so-so.

Pork Ramen, Curried Beef Over Rice In A Stone Bowl, Deep-Fried Gyoza
We tried a new japanese place on Friday as another of our #fridaytastings— where we try a new restaurant in our new neck of the woods. I actually pass by this restaurant every day on my way to work. At first, I thought it looked so-so but thought it was a convenient location (nearby) and saw it had actually had quite a number of positive reviews, so we gave it a whirl.
