Saying 'I Love You' Without Actually Saying It [MOMLIFE]

My toddler said this to me the other day and it felt even better than 'I love you'.

She said this right when we got into the bathroom and were about to brush teeth before bed. I had just spent the entire day with her, as I took her to a museum in the city-- a rare treat and one to remember.

The way she said it was unanticipated and matter-of-fact, as if it were any other statement. She had a great day and it sounded as she was both thankful for that and aware I facilitate that happening.

Sometimes we say 'I love you' to the people we love so often that the phrase becomes more meaningless the more we say it, even if we are more inclined to say it because we do.

Changing the way you say 'I love you' somehow makes it more meaningful because you think more deeply (or at all) why you feel the way you do.

This all might very well be philosophical garbage but the love was there and it was certainly felt and no one even had to say it. xo

Feline Print Outfit Of The Night! [KID STYLE]

This was a fun outfit to put together-- mixing and matching animal prints, as well as so-called gendered clothing.

When I shop for my girls, I browse the whole store, beyond the pinks, florals, and tulle. We love all colors of the rainbow and all styles. If you tend to look at only one half of your favorite clothing store when shopping, try exploring the other side. You never know what gems you might find. xo

Fun, Easy Watermelon Art Project For Kids! - Step-By-Step [DIY, KIDS ART]

This is a fun, easy art project to do with your kids. It promotes motor skills— cutting with scissors and gluing— and design skills— putting the pieces together.

Just grab some construction paper and draw out the shapes for your little ones. If they're a little older, just show them a picture of what the end product looks like and they can draw out their own pieces. xo

Materials:
  • Construction Paper - red, green, black
  • Kid Scissors
  • Pencil - for drawing out the shapes
  • Glue

Playground Built With Design!

We went to this playground early last week that was supposed to be really amazing— specifically designed for children of all abilities. We got to the right park but, at first, landed at the wrong playground. Finally, after talking to another mom, we got to the right one.

Either one, the kids had a great time :>

Where the magic begins...
