I Cut My Hair! And My Advice For Cutting Your Own Hair :>

Never say never...

At one point, I thought I'd never go short again but have recently been watching a particular vlogging family and loved the mom's hair length (she's since cut her hair even shorter). I was originally intending to leave it a little longer than it currently is but, midway cutting it, I decided to go a little shorter. I think my hair grows pretty quick and figured I might as well cut a little more so, in no time, it'll be the length I originally wanted. Turns out, I actually like the short length I ended up with.

It was a lot of hair. Only after holding it in the garbage did I realize how much I actually cut off— probably half my hair! I accomplished a lot on Memorial Day— vacuumed, went for an exploratory walk through an unfamiliar town, went for a swim, and chopped my hair. The latter took about an hour— not bad considering how much I cut. I figured I wouldn't have enough to ombre it but will likely (hopefully) do that soon.

The key to cutting your own hair is pulling small bits in the opposite direction it normally falls and cutting 'into' or parallel to your strands, towards your scalp, to achieve a choppy/layered look. Wasn't going for blunt but if that's your thing, by all means cut perpendicular/horizontally straight across.

I filmed myself cutting my hair and am importing the footage now. If it's decent, I'll edit and publish to youtube. Cross your fingers (and be on the lookout) for that! :>

So, what do you think?? Yay or nay? :>

Homemade Kielbasa, Meatball, Spinach Pasta!

Browned kielbasa is one of those rare but precious treats. Love kielbasa with carbs— pasta, portuguese rolls with tons on butter, whatever.

Turns out, Nui Nui is #likemotherlikedaughter :> In the 4th, 5th, and 6th photos below, Nui Nui just arrived to the table and, seeing my plate, was uncontrollably drawn to my plate, pointing specifically at the kielbasa, saying, 'I want that!'

Wondering how the pasta really tasted? Check the kid's facial expressions and you decide :>

What food is rare and precious for you? :>

Homemade Tacos, Shredded Cheese Cheeks!

Tacos are kinda a big deal around here... we never eat tacos but I've been wanting them. For Memorial Day, I took Nui Nui to the park in the morning, we went out for lunch and a walk, went to Trader Joes (where I slipped on wet floor :<), went swimming, and cut my hair. It was a busy day. I was supposed to make the tacos but just procured the ingredients and took Nui Nui swimming instead. Mom did an amazing job. I asked her to cook the ground beef in grill seasoning because I like grill seasoning (on lamb especially :>). We got the guacamole from Whole Foods. And the rest from Trader Joes (inc. shells).

Tacos were on my bucket list for the weekend. Mission accomplished. :>

Advice: Set goals. Make sure they're tasty.

What advice do you have to give? Share in the Comments below, we'd love to hear! :> xoxo
