Going Home From The Hospital With My Two Girls [MOMLIFE]

Left the hospital two days later, with two girls on the outside :>

Still trying to find time to post though am definitely not trying to push myself. Spending these precious moments as best I can with these two are my top priority.

Nui Nui was definitely more eager about the baby yesterday upon bringing her home than on the day of delivery, in the delivery room with all eyes on her.

When we got home, she kept asking: What can I do? What can I help with? Spoken like a true best big sister.

She wanted to help feed the baby, even citing she has nipples too. And not just one but two! :>

Nui Nui also hasn't exhibited any signs of jealousy, though I've admittedly been a little more distracted than usual.

This is a start of a new, fun journey and adventure. xo

Made It! - Baby Sister Arrives! [MOMLIFE]

The hospital in which I delivered promotes skin-to-skin contact immediately after baby is born, meaning she comes right on top of me for one hour before any measurements, tests, shots, or cleaning is done.

After the initial bonding hour was over, they cleaned her up and measured her.

Her weight was solid, dispelling any judgment I had not gained enough or too little weight.
My autumn baby, born on this year's Chinese moon/mid-autumn festival. The nurse made her, her hat.
Friends were eager to meet her.
Nui Nui was overwhelmed and shy on this big day she's been anticipating for months but I know she's happy and eager to be a big sister. My girls!
Colostrum in! Breastfeeding step-one success:>
My newest darling. I've fallen in love all over again. Meet Estéanna :>
Life is grand and I'm the happiest mama, living the dream. xo

Thanks to all for the support and well wishes! xoxo

(These limited number of photos were taken and are being posted via my phone. More, better quality ones will be up once I get back to a computer. Stay tuned! xo)

Fun, Easy Watermelon Art Project For Kids! - Step-By-Step [DIY, KIDS ART]

This is a fun, easy art project to do with your kids. It promotes motor skills— cutting with scissors and gluing— and design skills— putting the pieces together.

Just grab some construction paper and draw out the shapes for your little ones. If they're a little older, just show them a picture of what the end product looks like and they can draw out their own pieces. xo

Materials:
  • Construction Paper - red, green, black
  • Kid Scissors
  • Pencil - for drawing out the shapes
  • Glue

Baby Room Decor Idea! - I Love You Alphabet Letters [DIY, MOMLIFE]

Interior decorating is by no means my forté but, after seeing baby room photos posted by Instagram mamas I follow, I was just curious to see what other ideas are out there. So, of course, I took to Pinterest.

That said, this is by no means my idea. However, I did execute the idea in a slightly different way. I believe the pin I saw used paper mache letters, which might have been easier to implement because you can pick them up premade at Joann Fabrics. Each letter, however, costs $3.50, so I was looking for something a little more affordable.

I was with a friend at Joann's who happened to be eyeing a Cricut for a while now— not that I knew what it was but have since learned. She offered to make me the letters, which is what you see up on my wall.

The paper is fancy cardstock, which are available in pads and single sheets, and I hung them up simply using masking tape.

Shout out to crafty mom friends :>

I have some more blank wall space and might consider some other DIY projects. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I'm all ears. Leave your thoughts or links in the Comments, and I'll be sure to check them out.

As for 'baby room', that might be a misnomer. This is my room. But what's mine are my kids' :> xo

What's In My Labor & Delivery Hospital Bag! [VIDEO]

Finally put my labor & delivery hospital bag in the car today! The countdown seriously begins! Less than three days left. And, as I write this, I was able to celebrate Nui Nui's 4th birthday as an only child :> (post on that up hopefully soon!)

Birthday month is coming slowly to an end, though not really. For her, maybe, but it continues when she becomes a big sister.

My memory is seriously fading this week. There are so many things I've been forgetting— including my camera in the car tonight for Nui Nui's birthday dinner.

Some things I forgot to mention in the video— phone charger, camera charger, camera!, and maybe iPad. Aside from the latter, they're the things I use on a daily basis so it's hard for me to pack them. I also packed a pair of newborn socks and a receiving blanket, which now reminds me, I should pack a couple of small towels in case I need them for the carseat. You see? So many little things.

Will I ever be 100% fully prepared? Probably not but that's what motherhood is all about. Love hard and the rest will fall into place :> More soon! xo

Pumpkin Patch 2015! [MOMLIFE]

I'm the worst blogger, I know, but a trip to the pumpkin patch happens only once a year and, as I mentioned before, I love the colors, the seasonal goodness, and most of all, the heightened happiness and laughter.

Despite the dropping temps, we're entering a very special time of year. Ok, I admit, all year can and is special but the HOLIDAYS! BIRTHDAYS! CELEBRATION! DECORATIONS! Good cheer! :>

Beware, this post is long and inundated with photos. I narrowed the number of photos I took, I swear, but just couldn't narrow it down further. I just couldn't. How could I limit the joy and just stow it away, hidden on some drive?

Happy Fall, Dear Readers! May the smiles bring you more warmth and sweetness than a pumpkin spice latte :> xo
