One Sweaty Breastfed Babe [MOMLIFE]

I don't know if it's the weather or if it's that she's growing (or a combo of both), but her feeds lately have been pretty intense and she's been sweating like a hot yogi :>

It's all good though because her cheeks are filled and she finds comfort close to my heart :> xo

Play Doh Gingerbread Man! [KID ART]

Nui Nui still can't get enough of this Chef Supreme Play Doh set. It's one of those rare gifts that makes me wish I had gotten it for her, seeing how much she loves to play with it.

Attended an informational session on kindergartens tonight. One parent asked what things they can do to prep their kids. One of the suggestions was to work their fine motor skills, particularly their hands and forearms, which will be important as they begin to write more.

Thankful this is an area being taken care of by itself :> xo

Sitting On The Couch Of My Dreams [MOMLIFE]

You work so hard to create the life of your dreams but among the struggle you can't possibly imagine what that life might actually look like. It's not fancy by any means but, to me, it is the world. xo

Baby Girl Headband Crown Of Flowers [KIDSTYLE]

These headbands are adult-sized and too big but I think I liked how these looked vs. a bow, which I tried on her as well.

Boho chic with all her hair :> And the hunt continues... xo

Good Morning Baby! [MOMLIFE]

Two of my favorite things: this outfit-- her coming home one and her sleeper blanket.

Oops! Make that three: this kid.

She wakes up pretty peacefully now. When I woke up this morning, I thought I did before she did because I didn't hear a peep. But, in fact, her eyes were wide open and she was looking around, waiting patiently for me to come over. She probably heard my alarm.

She's the cutest first thing in the morning. I open her up out of her blanket and, like a jack-in-the-box, her arms come flinging out for a stretch. And, because she's had a full night's sleep, her mood is as top-notch as her head of hair :> xo

If I Can't Walk [MOMLIFE]

My mom was diagnosed this week with a hereditary disease that has affected her feet in particular, causing her significant instability and the need for a walker. Since her diagnosis, the more I think about it and look back retrospectively, the more I'm convinced I have it.

If I do indeed carry the gene, it'll hopefully be a number of years away before my lifestyle will be affected, as the progression of the disease is slow.

With this on my mind and as I think about the future, I had this convo with Nui Nui tonight:

Me: Nui Nui?
Nui Nui: What, mama?
Me: Are you going to take care of me when I get old?
Nui Nui: Yes.
Me: What if I can't walk?
Nui Nui: Then l'll hold your hand.

My kid. Man, did I hit the jackpot! xo

14 Fun Questions And How My Kid Responded [MOMLIFE]

A friend on Facebook posted 14 questions and answers her child said in response. Not typically a fan of chain posts, I thought this was fun, so did this with Nui Nui. Below are the questions and her answers at age four.

If you do this with your children, share their responses in the Comments along with their age, we'd love to hear their funny yet insightful responses :> xo

The instructions are: Without ANY prompting ask your kids these questions. It's a great way to see what they think.

(4) How do I make you laugh?
(5) What was I like as a child?

Lego Nexo Knight Macy! [TOYS]

She wanted me to take a pic of her and her new Lego Nexo Knight figurine, as she was SO excited about it.

I know I had just bought one for her on New Years but here's the thing: I didn't get her much for the holidays. Instead, I made her a 'coupon book' that allows her to get things throughout the year (which I'm hoping will last through next xmas 🙏😅).

My excuse with legos, too, is that it's 'educational'. There are instructions, you follow, you work your fine motor skills, you build and create. 🤓

The package on the right is a free promo item that you get with any Nexo Knight purchase. I've become that mom that knows about these Lego store promotions, you see. Even the staff recognized me and I them. I also know Cartoon Network will begin showing Nexo Knight episodes every weekday at 5:30pm starting tomorrow-- got it all planned out already. 😂

I asked her if Nexo Knights had a theme song but she said no, so I've been replacing the lyrics of Macho Man as appropriate. 🎶

Honestly, I love seeing her level of excitement and enthusiasm. It's what being a kid is all about, isn't it? And it's something we as adults can all learn from. xo

First Selfie Lessons! [MOMLIFE]

Ok, here's what went down. I don't think kids these days really need lessons but...

She woke up from a nap so I had to take a break from working. As I mentioned before, she prefers looking out and discovering now but I can get her to smile only if she makes eye-contact, so I flipped the camera on my phone.

In large mirrors, she can see me but still has to learn about small screens. In the end, she was more interested in her fist than the screen. Power to her :> xo

Girl's Winter Jacket! [KID STYLE]

I debuted this jacket in a previous post a few days ago when it was raining but am showing it again in better lighting-- thank you, sun :>

It's blue, her favorite color with polka dots, and we picked it up end of last season as it was on clearance.

It comes equipped with a generous hood, zipper pockets, and, with most (if not all) H&M kids clothing, a place to write her name-- very nice perk.

The material is slick and can honestly feel cold when it's cold outside but I think the puffiness is what keeps her warm.

What I like about the jacket is that it isn't too short and the material makes it light and feels like it's pretty easy to clean.

So far so good. She's been wearing it daily ever since. xo

Jacket: H&M
Pants: Old Navy
Sneakers/Running shoes: Target
Toy: Build-A-Bear
