3D Ultrasound At 32 Weeks Vs. 3-Month Old Baby! [MOMLIFE]

At my 20-week ultrasound, I found out I had a low-lying placenta, which was within 2cm of the cervix and put me at risk of needing a c-section.

There was a 90% chance, though, that it would resolve on its own. I needed for it to be rechecked with a followup ultrasound at 32 weeks and, thankfully, I was in the clear.

At that ultrasound checkup, I thought they were just going to check the placenta but they did a full measurement of the baby. The facility I had gone to was different than the one I went to at 20 weeks and one that I hadn't gone to before.

As I was lying down, watching the measurements being taken, suddenly the screen went blank. O great, I thought, they found something wrong. But then, in  an instant the baby's face, a 3-D rendition appeared. Woah! was my reaction because it caught me off guard and was not something I was expecting in the slightest. I never got one for Nui Nui and thought this was something people paid extra for, for thrills. I certainly never asked for it, only asking for tests to make sure the baby was healthy.

When I got the rendition, I kept it just between me, my mom, and a couple of close friends, like a secret gem, like the newly found treasure that she was.

Five months later, three months after she was born, the resemblance is uncanny and absolutely stunning. I'm in complete awe, I admit. Life, making life, and motherhood: what a trip. And how thankful I am to get to be on this dream journey. xo

Getting The Answer I Wanted [MOMLIFE]

Some people have anniversaries of their wedding day coupled with their first date. I, on the other hand, celebrate birth days and days of conception.

When you overcome obstacles beyond the norm, you look back fondly at those trying times and never forget those chapters in your life. Because it was in those moments, like first dates, there was chemistry. You change and life is never the same-- it's better. It's the dream.

After almost one month postpartum, I finally threw out these sticks because they finally gave me the Answer I wanted.

Today, exactly one year later, I celebrate the beginning of a journey to an even richer life, one in which both my hands are full. xo

What's In My Labor & Delivery Hospital Bag! [VIDEO]

Finally put my labor & delivery hospital bag in the car today! The countdown seriously begins! Less than three days left. And, as I write this, I was able to celebrate Nui Nui's 4th birthday as an only child :> (post on that up hopefully soon!)

Birthday month is coming slowly to an end, though not really. For her, maybe, but it continues when she becomes a big sister.

My memory is seriously fading this week. There are so many things I've been forgetting— including my camera in the car tonight for Nui Nui's birthday dinner.

Some things I forgot to mention in the video— phone charger, camera charger, camera!, and maybe iPad. Aside from the latter, they're the things I use on a daily basis so it's hard for me to pack them. I also packed a pair of newborn socks and a receiving blanket, which now reminds me, I should pack a couple of small towels in case I need them for the carseat. You see? So many little things.

Will I ever be 100% fully prepared? Probably not but that's what motherhood is all about. Love hard and the rest will fall into place :> More soon! xo

Pumpkin Patch 2015! [MOMLIFE]

I'm the worst blogger, I know, but a trip to the pumpkin patch happens only once a year and, as I mentioned before, I love the colors, the seasonal goodness, and most of all, the heightened happiness and laughter.

Despite the dropping temps, we're entering a very special time of year. Ok, I admit, all year can and is special but the HOLIDAYS! BIRTHDAYS! CELEBRATION! DECORATIONS! Good cheer! :>

Beware, this post is long and inundated with photos. I narrowed the number of photos I took, I swear, but just couldn't narrow it down further. I just couldn't. How could I limit the joy and just stow it away, hidden on some drive?

Happy Fall, Dear Readers! May the smiles bring you more warmth and sweetness than a pumpkin spice latte :> xo
