Birthday Party Ice Cream! - Three!

I originally ordered an all ice cream cake but that order got messed up. Apparently, all-ice-cream cakes only come in combo of chocolate and vanilla. Moreover, they're $9 more than their half-ice-cream-half-cake cakes, which you can choose the ice cream flavor for.

I really want to be the kind of mom that makes their kid their birthday cake every year but I did make her cupcakes for school, so kind of considered I had done my job. So instead of baking her a cake or buying her a cake, we ended up not having cake at all. I got her, her favorite ice cream, which she loves instead.

If I had enough time and thought about it more, I could have done something cute(r) with the ice cream— either make an ice cream cake myself or scoop it out into some cute arrangement but... I didn't. All that mattered to me, though, is that she was happy and the ice cream made her even more so— cherry on top.

I'm a believer you don't have to spend a fortune on a kid's birthday party (or an adult's one either, for that matter). It's not about the food. It's about the person you're celebrating and happy to spend time with. It's about the people you love and want to share these moments with. And it's having what you need and being content with what you've got.

How do you celebrate birthdays? Share in the Comments below, we'd love to hear! : > xoxo
