I've been sleeping later and later. I stayed up until 1am last night and woke up with beautiful blue eyes. The only unfortunate thing is that the blue was under my eyes rather than in them... :< :> But creating is my outlet. It's what makes me happy (other than the beautiful people in my life). Focus on the happy, on things you love doing to get out of the broken record, out of the drudgery, out of your own prison. If only I had found this back then... (not that back then would not have made me who I am and what I have today). Live in the present, hope for the future, let go of the past. #mantra
There are so many wonderful things about Nui Nui. Today in the shower— the little time I have to think about and reflect on things— I thought about some of her qualities: patient, kind, thoughtful, generous, loving, funny, responsible, strong, full-of-spirit, playful, danceful :>, concentrated, smart, intelligent, savvy, healthy, and beautiful she is. Nui Nui quietly (unfussingly) waits as I prepare her dinner plate, she offers us her food and even aims to feed our mouths, she takes out our shoes when we're getting ready to go out, she generously gives us hugs and kisses and even to her stuffed toys, she puts things away and tries to clean up, she walks runs and climbs better than her mom did at her age, she loves to jump up and down, twirl, and furiously swing her arms, and tilt her head back while laughing, she is looks so intent and knowing when navigating through the iPad and while choosing videos, she picks up so many words and behaviors at the speed of light, she loves vegetables, and she just lights up the room with her smile.
I don't know why I started thinking about this... maybe because a co-worker today insisted that children are their own person and have personalities of their own that you, as a parent, cannot change. And so I thought about my daughter and came to the conclusion: there really isn't anything I want to change. :>
