When I brought Nui Nui home from the hospital, I can't remember if I packed her a 'going-home' outfit. I probably did but didn't end up using it. A first time mom, I brought her home in her hospital shirt and cap, no pants. I swaddled her throughout her first few days of life, pantsless. It was a warm day. I probably covered her with a blanket. I thought she was fine.

I remember, though, the nurse commenting— 'you don't have an outfit?' Must've stung a little, since I remember it to this day.

Recently, I've been seeing a number of friends on Facebook posting pics of their newest family members and noticed these outfits. Apparently, it's a thing? So, the pressure was slightly on. So ridiculous, I know.

I asked a couple of friends if they had these 'going-home' outfits. One said yes. The other said probably but she couldn't remember what it was exactly. Honestly, I'd have brought my kid home swaddled if it weren't for the driving/carseat/safety issue.

So, I said to myself, with just a little over a week before my due date, that I'd try to look for an outfit but won't kill myself over it. I did go to a number of places but all were local and not out of the way.

This weekend, on a mother-daughter/(big sister-to-be) outing, I did end up finding something...

I think the most important thing is, is that I ended up having a great day with my firstborn on this outfit hunt. I think the other important thing to realize is, as my friend reminded me, that I just need to do me, no one else. Love hard, be me. The rest will fall into place.

That said, H&M has a really good, affordable kids selection of clothing, if you're on the market. Just saying :> xo

Picked up a few things the other day at the Dollar Tree and thought I'd share :> When it comes to looking for affordable, educational items/activities for your kids, the dollar store is a great place to find things.

If there isn't a dedicated dollar store near you, you can always check out places like Target and Walmart, too, which now have dollar sections as well.

Xmas Came Early This Year... OOTD, Trader Joe's Grocery Haul! - VLOGMAS 14, 2013

Nui Nui woke up at 7am this morning, saying 'Blanket'— for me to cover her. She woke up again at 7:44am for good. From 8-9am we spent the hour cleaning down the early Christmas present I got her— a kitchen playset. I feel bad about the non-surprise factor— I had to take her with me to go pick it up (plus it's way to big for me to hide)— and a little bit about the early factor, but in the end, hopefully, the memory will be that she got it for Xmas on 2013. In the meanwhile, I'll have to work on hiding things better from her— first world problems, I know :> Fortunately, though, we cleaned it together.

Given that on top of an exhausting week, I was kind of tired today— it shows in the vlog. I better go to sleep :>

Epic fail on multiple levels. One, this was filmed/uploaded several weeks ago (before Halloween and it's already past mid-November). Suggestion: although I'll work harder on posting, for a more timely viewing, would love if you would Subscribe :> Two, I haven't filmed in two weeks. Rampant illness in the household is completely unproductive.

Nevertheless, here it is. And another haul likely to come again. What can I say, we like to bargain shop and fake-exercise by walking all over the place to find those said-bargains :>

I started taking out select pieces of the Lego cup I bought Nui Nui but then she ended up dumping out the whole cup. There was really no reason for me NOT to let her play with them all. a) One cup, even large!, doesn't really hold many pieces; b) She gets it. She know what to do with them and is a curious explorer. Who am I to take that away from her? :> Plus, I think she's responsible enough not to eat them :>

I forgot to film and take pics, but we also bought Nui Nui four pairs of training pants from JCPenney. Mom got her regular underwear too because she couldn't resist how cute they were :> I'll try to post a pick if I get a chance. They were ultra-cheap, something on the order of $7.50 for 4 pairs of training pants, and $7.50 for 8 pairs of undies?

Clearly, we like to shop. My excuse, however, is that I like to walk (ahem, 'be active'— o so healthy! :>) and look at things while I do it... We just get tempted into buying the things we see. In our defense, though, we purchase within reason. Don't we? :>

What's In Our Travel Bag To LA!

We're heading to LA in T minus 1.5 days. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Nui Nui will be going to school tomorrow in lieu of July 4th and I'm crossing my fingers she doesn't catch anything. Luckily, she got through the whole nasty hand-foot-mouth thing that was going around a few weeks ago.

It's funny, too, because I thought I might be the only one. A mom-friend, who we're stoked to be meeting up with said the same thing: 'praying he won't get sick either'. So I decided to do a What's In Our Travel Bag, a spin off of a What's In My Purse video. I thought it would be interesting to share what we're bringing on our road trip and compare it for when we go to HK. This road trip will be good practice. I mean, we'll be staying in the US, same state even! And with our car, no less. We can definitely be generous with our things and they definitely have Target, so I think we're all set :> ['Let's just hope we don't get a flat ']. I'm ridiculous...

We haven't been shopping, or purchasing anyway, much but have been on a recent kick with the seasons changing and weather getting warmer. We are completely stoked. It's a best feeling to breath in the fresh air, running around free and with weightless clothing :>

It's Saturday and you can tell I'm stoked. This week has been in the drab 60s and slightly windy, this weekend is forecasted in the 70s, only to go back down to the 60s on Monday. #ishouldbeaweathergirl

Well, looks like I'm back up and running.

Feels weird. Not that I'm complaining, though, but every time before this, when my computer died, it died. End of story. My goodness, the significance of back up. Not everything was perfectly stored but it's pretty darn near close. Now I need to clean my stuff up and find a better system...

Anyway, I got to post last night because Mom was generous enough to lend me her computer :>

On Sunday, in lieu of the party, I took Nui Nui to Target. And, because she was such low energy, I could have taken the opportunity to take my time looking at anything I wanted but totally skipped my go-to sections and focused on her stuff. Have I officially made it into the hood?— going to Target and getting strictly Nui Nui stuff? :> :>

This video was filmed a couple of weeks ago and I'm just getting to it today... #idratherbetoobusy :>

I also just noticed I'm wearing the exact same sweater as I was in the previous haul video. Go figure. When you love to wear something, you love to wear something and it makes it totally worth it :>

So I love watching haul videos despite the weirdness some feel about it. It's not showing off what you got, it's showing others, or highlighting, what's out there. There's a lot of stuff out there and it's hard (or impossible) to plow through it all. Having someone showcase and review products is helpful! :>

This video (or things in it :>) is all for Nui Nui. I went on a spree that day, I felt. But she needed a lot of things, books especially. I used to think I'd just take her to the library and we'd borrow but at this age I really think she needs staple books of her own and I'm all about education :>

Cheap Tops - Fashion Lookbook/Haul!

I envy those who can shop thrift. For some reason, I don't find myself doing it. Perhaps it's the smell that holds me back. Instead, as an alternative, there's Forever 21— the prices are affordable and the clothes suit a variety of different needs and tastes. As for quality, it's good enough for me— trends and personal dislikes are always changing, or at least don't last forever, so you want to keep switching it up. So unless you can afford otherwise, F21 is a good way to go, or at least alternative without the stench.

Tip: Catch their 50%-off sales on top of sales, those are the best— you can get up to 75% off, if not more! For a total of 5 tops, I spent less than $28. Good deal if you ask me... (not that you are)... :> smak!

We are near weekly Target shoppers. Sometimes, even, we will go one day, then Mom will go the next day, and then later that evening, she will already begin her list of what she forgot and what she needs. Are we Targetoholics? :>

Target really is a great place, offering so much junk you need that you didn't even know you needed it until you got there :> So, it's fun to share what we got every once in a while and highlight its goodies. Baby's First Birthday Fashion Haul!

Every day continues to be some great adventure with Nui Nui and worthy of capturing on camera :>

This video was filmed over a week ago and I only had the chance to upload it today. Better late than never, right?

As I mentioned to one of my viewers, I am very (very) grateful for my daughter and all the things we have/get, especially the love and support we receive from family, friends, and social media folks (like you!) all around the world.

Target Haul - Grocery, Baby, & Halloween Items!

We had a rough weekend with baby fighting her first battle with germs, momma fighting probably the same ones as well. Conspiracy theory: the Discovery Museum but that won't stop me from going back. :>

We were at home all day Saturday— a first in many months— but by Sunday we mustered a little bit of energy, enough to make it to Target for our weekly run.
